Dhaka, Nov 15 (V7N) — Jamaat-e-Islami Vice-Ameer Professor Mujibur Rahman has urged the government to consult political parties before taking any decisions on the upcoming national referendum. He made the remarks during a discussion meeting on the implementation of the Labor Reform Commission’s recommendations at the Diploma Engineers Institution in Dhaka on Saturday afternoon.
Professor Rahman criticized the Chief Advisor for attempting to address issues unilaterally, warning that a lack of dialogue could lead to a political stalemate. “The government must take initiatives to resolve this issue now. If a deadlock arises, the responsibility will lie with the government,” he said.
He also expressed concern that the recommendations for labor law reforms might not be implemented and stressed that the government should prioritize workers’ interests in the reform process. Professor Rahman called for special initiatives to ensure that labor reforms are effectively carried out for the benefit of the country’s workforce.
