Thakurgaon, Nov 10 (V7N) — BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has accused a group of attempting to create divisions in society by using religion and trying to sabotage the upcoming national elections.
He made the remarks while speaking at a meeting with freedom fighters and their children in Thakurgaon on Monday (November 10) morning.
Mirza Fakhrul said that a section is working to undermine the spirit of the Liberation War and erase the memory of the sacrifices made in 1971. “The country gained independence through the sacrifices of millions of people in 1971. Just as the people of this country cannot forget August 24, they cannot forget 1971 either,” he said.
The BNP leader also alleged that a well-organized group is aligning itself with the Pakistani occupation forces, adding that the people of Bangladesh will never compromise with those who killed freedom fighters and their families.
