Dhaka, Nov 07 (V7N) — BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that former President Ziaur Rahman introduced radical reforms in the state system, including politics, marking a turning point in Bangladesh’s development and progress.

He made the remarks on Friday (November 7) after placing wreaths at Ziaur Rahman’s tomb on the occasion of ‘National Revolution and Solidarity Day’.

Mirza Fakhrul alleged that various conspiracies are being carried out to endanger democracy, stressing that the electoral and democratic process must continue to uphold the true spirit of the day.

He urged all citizens to protect democracy and national unity, saying, “Only by preserving democratic values can we properly honor the significance of this day.”
