Dhaka, Nov 03 (V7N)- The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced its initial list of candidates for 237 constituencies ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir unveiled the names at a press conference held at the BNP Chairperson’s political office in Gulshan, Dhaka, on Monday afternoon.

Among the candidates, BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia will contest from three constituencies: Feni-1, Bogra-7, and Dinajpur-3. Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman will contest from Bogra-6, while Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will run from Thakurgaon-1.

Before announcing the candidates, Mirza Fakhrul said, “After 16 long years, we are going to have democratic elections next February. A list of potential candidates for 237 seats is being given in that election. The BNP will coordinate the candidates for the seats where the simultaneous movement partners will be announced.”
