Dhaka, Sep 24 (V7N) – The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested Ajay Kar Khokon, former general secretary of the now-banned Chhatra League and a leader of the Awami League.

According to the DMP’s media division, Khokon was arrested from the Gulshan area of the capital around 2 am on Tuesday. The arrest was confirmed on Wednesday.

Police officials said that multiple cases are pending against him and that further legal action is currently underway.

Ajay Kar Khokon served as general secretary of the Chhatra League central committee during 1998–2002. After his tenure, he became actively involved in Awami League politics.
