Dhaka, Sep 14 (V7N) – Rashed Khan, General Secretary of the People’s Rights Council, has warned of potential sieges of the Jamuna and the Secretariat if those responsible for the attack on Nurul Haque Nur are not held accountable within the next 48 hours.
Rashed Khan made the announcement at a press conference on Nur’s condition at Dhaka Medical College on Sunday afternoon. He said, “Nur’s nose and jaw bones are broken, and he has injuries to the head and gums. Doctors have advised him to remain in the hospital for several more days.”
Khan added that Nurul Haque Nur prefers to undergo treatment in Bangladesh and does not wish to go abroad, though he expressed concerns about potential pressure on the Chief Advisor regarding this decision.
Addressing the attack, Khan said, “Despite spot footage of the incident, no action has been taken against the perpetrators. The investigation commission formed to probe the attack has not contacted us officially. We urge them to directly collect information and evidence.”
He concluded with a stern warning: “This incident must be properly investigated. If no action is taken within 48 hours, we will organize a program that could involve sieges of Jamuna or the Secretariat. In that case, the Home Affairs Advisor may have to resign.”
