Dhaka, July 1 (V7N) — The Mass Solidarity Movement and its allied organizations paid tribute to the martyrs of the July Uprising by placing floral wreaths at the altar of the Central Shaheed Minar on Tuesday morning.
Speaking on the occasion, Mass Solidarity Movement Chief Coordinator Junaid Saki described the July Uprising as the largest mass and student movement in Bangladesh since 1971. He warned that the defeated fascist forces are not idle and are conspiring to derail the achievements of the uprising. “All their evil activities must be stopped, and we must ensure the success of this mass uprising,” he said.
Saki accused the Awami League of secretly fostering terrorism under the guise of spontaneous mob action. “Criminals must be brought under the law. There is no scope for creating mobs in the name of justice. The Awami League is exploiting this to carry out terrorist activities,” he alleged.
Emphasizing the need for reforms to ensure a balance of power, Saki called for the trial of genocide perpetrators and a fair environment for future elections. He urged the nation not to forget the sacrifices made in 1971 and during the July Uprising in the struggle to build a just and democratic Bangladesh.
