THAKURGAON, June 9, (V7N) – BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today voiced profound concern over the alarming decline in the quality of education across Bangladesh, asserting that despite numerous movements and public uprisings, the standard has fallen further. He made these remarks virtually while addressing the golden jubilee celebrations of River View High School in Thakurgaon.

"The quality of education has deteriorated alarmingly throughout the country. Without going into who is responsible, I want to say that the overall quality has declined," Fakhrul stated, emphasizing the critical state of the nation's educational landscape.

Expressing deep concern for the future, Fakhrul highlighted the urgent need for a robust education system: "If we are going to reconstruct this nation, we have to prepare students. They should be able to prove their worth in all fields."

He further underscored the highly competitive nature of the modern world, emphasizing the necessity of knowledge and adaptability. "If we want to cope with this ever-changing world, we have to compete in knowledge. Now it has become even more difficult. Technology has gone to such a point that if we cannot cope with new inventions and technological advancement, then we will fall behind," he warned.Addressing the students directly, Fakhrul, who was also a teacher by profession, stressed the paramount importance of academic diligence. "There is no alternative to study. You also have to engage yourself with extracurricular activities like sports," he advised. He also urged teachers to dedicate themselves to preparing the new generation to effectively navigate and succeed in the global arena. The golden jubilee celebration later saw a colorful procession parading through the main thoroughfares of the district town.
