Dhaka, Jun 06 (V7N) – Ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, the National Citizen Party (NCP) has launched a dedicated hotline service for residents of Dhaka North and South City Corporation areas to assist with Eid-related concerns. The initiative aims to provide immediate support and address complaints within 30 minutes of contact, party leaders announced.

The announcement was made at a program organized by the NCP Metropolitan Branch at the party’s temporary office in Bangla Motor on Friday (June 6).

Speaking at the event, Akram Hossain, Joint Member Secretary of NCP, said,

“We have launched hotline services in both city corporation zones. Our teams will reach any city resident within 30 minutes of receiving a call.”

In addition to the hotline, party leaders raised concerns over the ongoing manipulation in the leather market and urged the government to establish ward-based temporary collection and storage centers for animal hides to curb the influence of syndicates and ensure fair prices for sellers.

They emphasized that without a structured and localized leather management system, it will be impossible to eliminate the middlemen and prevent widespread financial exploitation of citizens and farmers.

NCP leaders present at the press conference included Sardar Amirul Islam, Khaleda Akhtar, Kazi Saiful Islam, Omar Farooq, Sanaullah Khan, and central member Zayed Bin Naser. They also urged law enforcement agencies to remain alert during the Eid period to ensure public safety and protect economic activities related to sacrificial rituals.

The party confirmed that its Eid assistance program will continue until the third day of Eid, offering services through its hotline and volunteer teams.

This grassroots initiative by the NCP comes at a time when concerns over leather syndicates, animal hide smuggling, and last-minute shortages in sacrificial animals are dominating public discourse ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
