Dhaka, June 5 (V7N) — BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has expressed concern over what he termed as a delay in the national elections. He questioned the role of Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus in expediting the process.

Speaking at an Eid gift distribution program for low-income families in Uttara on Thursday morning, Rizvi said, “Sheikh Hasina sent fair elections to the museum. People had hoped that after her departure, Dr. Yunus would swiftly restore their voting rights. But now, there is an unnecessary delay.”

Rizvi also criticized the lack of visible reforms despite Dr. Yunus having been in power for almost a year. “There’s been no sign of structural changes. If reforms are to be meaningful, elections must be held by December,” he added.

The Eid gift distribution event, which benefited hundreds of families, was reportedly funded by an industrial group. Rizvi used the occasion to reiterate the BNP’s call for prompt and fair elections, underscoring what he described as public frustration over inaction.
