Dhaka, May 11 (V7N)- Shehreen Amin Monami has resigned from her position as Assistant Proctor of University of Dhaka, confirming the development through a social media post on Facebook on Monday.
In her post, Monami reflected on her experience in teaching and administrative roles across Bangladesh University of Professionals, Jagannath University, and the University of Dhaka, saying she had never initially intended to take on administrative responsibilities.
She stated that she was appointed as Assistant Proctor on August 28, 2024, after being personally requested by the Proctor’s office, describing the role as an unexpected but honorable responsibility. She also expressed gratitude for the opportunity, calling it a moment of pride to serve her alma mater.
Monami praised the leadership of former Proctor Saifuddin Ahmed, highlighting lessons learned in managing difficult situations, maintaining patience, and handling student-related challenges with composure and compassion.
In her post, she also acknowledged the difficult circumstances faced by the proctorial team in recent times, stating that the experience was unlike anything previously seen at the university.
She concluded by expressing appreciation for working with her team and under Saifuddin Ahmed’s leadership, and extended her best wishes to the newly appointed proctorial body.
Earlier, on Sunday afternoon, former DU Proctor Saifuddin Ahmed also resigned, submitting his resignation to the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor ABM Obaidul Islam.
