Rajshahi, Dec 22 (V7N)- Six deans of Rajshahi University (RU) have resigned following pressure from RUCSU leaders and agitating students.

The university administration held a meeting with the deans at the Vice Chancellor’s residence at 4:30 pm on Monday. During the meeting, the deans submitted written notices, citing their inability to continue performing their duties beyond their term.

The meeting, which lasted around four hours, was confirmed by Registrar Professor Iftikharul Alam Masud, who acknowledged the resignation of all six deans. Their official terms had expired on December 17, but the administration had extended their tenure to complete various academic responsibilities.

Angry students, protesting the deans’ perceived role in the July movement, had intensified pressure, leading to the resignations.
