Khagrachhari, Aug 17 (V7N) – The Khagrachhari Hill District Council hosted a dialogue with local journalists on Sunday to discuss ongoing development activities and future planning initiatives aimed at enhancing the overall socio-economic landscape of the district. The meeting was held in the council’s main conference room.

Presided over by the acting chairman of the council, Shefalika Tripura, the session brought together council members, local media professionals, and stakeholders involved in the district’s governance and development sectors.

Also present at the meeting were Executive Officer of the Hill District Council Abdullah Al Mahfuz, President of the Khagrachhari Press Club Tarun Kumar Bhattacharjee, General Secretary H. M. Prafulla, President of the Journalists’ Union Shahriar Yunus, Secretary Isteaque Ahmed Nipu, and various other journalists and council officials.

Participants discussed the need to accelerate development activities, improve the quality of life for local residents, and expand services in critical sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, and the local economy. Media professionals actively contributed by offering suggestions on how to ensure effective implementation of projects and inclusive growth strategies.

The discussion also emphasized the importance of sustainable development planning in the region. Key recommendations included improving road connectivity, fostering the tourism sector, enhancing the quality of educational institutions, preserving indigenous cultural heritage, and creating employment opportunities.

Speakers at the meeting urged collaborative efforts between the council and the media to ensure transparency, community engagement, and progress monitoring in ongoing and future projects.
