Bagerhat, Aug 14 (V7N) - A 20-kilometer long motor rally was organized by the BNP ahead of the upcoming party council in Bagerhat’s Morelganj upazila on Thursday (August 14). The rally, led by Kazi Khairuzzaman Shipon, a district BNP leader and aspirant for the Bagerhat-4 (Morelganj-Shoronkhola) constituency, saw hundreds of party members take part in a vibrant show of support.
The motor rally started from Cholmabadia Balurmath and passed through Kalikabari, Amtala, Daibgnjahati, Badhal Bazar, Bongram, Hoglapasha, and Boulpur Polerhat Bazar, covering a distance of 20 kilometers. The procession was a colorful display, with participants holding party banners, festoons, and flags, creating an energetic and festive atmosphere.
Speaking to the party workers during the rally, Kazi Khairuzzaman Shipon emphasized the sacrifices made by loyal party members, saying that despite facing legal and physical persecution, they had remained steadfast in the party. He urged the workers to vote for dedicated leaders during the BNP council. He particularly appealed for support for his panel, with Shahidul Haque Babul as the president candidate and Lecturer Rasel Al Islam for the general secretary position.
The rally saw the participation of several local BNP leaders, including President candidate Shahidul Haque Babul, general secretary candidate Rasel Al Islam, Bagerhat Municipal BNP President Shikdar Faridul Islam, General Secretary Asaduzzaman Milan, Organizing Secretary candidate Professor Sabina Yasmin Tulu, Yunus Ali Akon, Khalafat Hossain Khosru, and workers' front leaders like Mohammad Majnu Mollah and Asaduzzaman Shamim.
The vibrant rally served as a clear signal of the BNP's active engagement in local politics and their preparations for the upcoming party elections, with the leaders calling on party members to unite and ensure a victory for their panel in the council.
