Madaripur, August 2 (V7N) – Azhar Ali Sumon, officer-in-charge of Shibchar Police Station in Madaripur, has been withdrawn and attached to the district police lines only 23 days after his appointment. The decision, effective August 1, was confirmed by Madaripur Superintendent of Police Md Naimul Hasan.
According to police sources, Sumon assumed his duties on July 9. His sudden removal has been officially described as an "administrative measure taken in the public interest." However, local reports suggest that allegations of accepting unethical benefits may have contributed to the decision. No formal complaint has been disclosed by the authorities.
SP Hasan declined to elaborate on the reasons behind the transfer, stating only that it was made for internal disciplinary reasons.
