Tangail, July 26 (V7N) – As part of the nationwide campaign to inspire civic responsibility and social harmony, a district-level oath-taking program titled ‘Our Pledge in July Reawakening for Social Reconstruction’ was held in Tangail on Saturday.
The event, aimed at fostering a humane, inclusive, and justice-based society, took place at 10 AM in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office. It was organized through a joint initiative of the Tangail District Administration, the Department of Social Services, and the Department of Women Affairs. The program was linked via video conference to the central government and other districts and upazilas across the country.
The ceremony featured speeches from prominent local leaders and officials including Additional Deputy Commissioner Sanjoy Kumar Mohanto, Deputy Director of Social Services Md. Touhidul Islam, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Nahida Akter, Tangail Press Club President Zafar Ahmed, Bangladesh Students’ Federation District President Fatema Rahman Bithi, and Member Secretary of the District Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Abu Ahmed Shershah.
A diverse group of attendees including government officials, "July warriors," and members of civil society participated in the event, expressing their renewed commitment to social responsibility and civic values.
The event concluded with a cultural performance by residents of the Government Girls’ Orphanage, symbolizing the spirit of unity and hope underpinning the July Reawakening initiative.
This ceremony was part of a broader campaign initiated by the Ministry of Social Welfare to reinvigorate the nation’s commitment to democratic values, equality, and active citizenship through collective community engagement.
