Rajshahi, July 26 (V7N) – A unique event was held under the slogan “Oath for Social Development in July Renaissance” at the Rajshahi District Shilpakala Academy auditorium on Saturday morning. Over a hundred men and women from different segments of society gathered with a renewed commitment to build a better society.
 
Organized by the Rajshahi district administration as part of a nationwide program initiated by the Ministry of Social Welfare, the event began with a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs of July and a special prayer for their eternal peace.
 
Following the tribute, a discussion session highlighted the significance of the July Renaissance and the vital role citizens play in social development.
 
The event received support from the Upazila Women’s Affairs Officer’s office. The chief guest was Khondokar Azim Ahmed, Divisional Commissioner of Rajshahi.
 
Additional notable attendees included Mohammad Mohinul Hasan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue), who chaired the event; Mohammad Shahjahan, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Rajshahi Range Police; Farzana Islam, the district’s first female Superintendent of Police (SP); and Tuktuk Talukdar, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT), alongside senior officials from various government and non-government departments.
 
In his speech, Divisional Commissioner Khondokar Azim Ahmed emphasized, “For positive social transformation and a strong foundation, the participation of every citizen is essential. The ‘July Renaissance’ is not just a program but an ideal inspiring us to renew our patriotism and uphold social responsibility.”
 
Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohinul Hasan said, “Rajshahi’s history and heritage are rich. Through this oath of renaissance, we pledge to bring positive change across all sectors of society. Empowering women and youth to build an inclusive society is our foremost goal.”
 
Special guests urged collective efforts to prevent social decay, establish justice, and contribute to national progress.
 
The event concluded with all attendees taking a collective oath, creating an emotional atmosphere where participants reaffirmed their commitment to their country and society.
 
The joint initiative by the district administration and the Department of Social Services was highly praised by participants, who believe such efforts play a crucial role in fostering civic responsibility and strengthening social unity.
