Ukhiya (Cox's Bazar), MAY 28 (V7N) – A high-level delegation comprising US Congressional staff and representatives from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) conducted a day-long visit to Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar, on Tuesday (May 27). The delegation assessed various development activities implemented within the host community and the Rohingya refugee camps.
During their visit, which spanned from morning to afternoon, the delegates observed the progress made in local development initiatives and refugee management efforts.
The delegation members included: Piatt (Legal Director and Chief Advisor, Senator Chris Murphy), Jesse Jain (Senior Foreign Policy Advisor, Senator Tim Kane), Ausan Al-Iriani (Foreign Policy Advisor, Senator Jeff Markley), Vanessa Scott (Legal Assistant, Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart), Pragya Sharma (Legal Assistant, Congressman Amy Berra), Michelle Sison (Director, Global Office), Margot Hecht (Deputy Director, Partnerships and Communications), Lance Bono (Chief, IOM Bangladesh), Nusrat Ghazzali (Deputy Chief, IOM Bangladesh), and Peter Kern (Chief, Sub-Office and Senior Emergency Coordinator).
