PABNA, 23 May (V7N)– Three residential halls at Pabna Government Edward College have been officially renamed, with the new nameplates unveiled by College Principal Professor Md. Abdul Awal Mia on Tuesday afternoon, May 20.
The Sheikh Russell Dormitory has been redesignated as Bijoy 24 Dormitory. The Begum Fazilatunnesa Dormitory is now the Ayesha Siddika (RA) Dormitory, and the Suchitra Sen Dormitory has been renamed July 36 Dormitory.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by Vice-Principal Professor Mohd. Abdul Khalek, Teachers' Council Secretary Professor Lutfar Rahman, Joint Secretary Rafiqul Islam, heads of various departments, hall superintendents, assistant superintendents, and representatives from student organizations. The event was presided over by the hall superintendents of the respective halls, with Professor Md. Abdullah Al Mamun, convener of the nameplate creation and unveiling committee, serving as coordinator.
Principal Professor Md. Abdul Awal Mia stated that the hall renamings were undertaken "in the context of the July Revolution, in view of the demands of the students and with the approval of the Academic Council." He urged those present to embrace the spirit of the July Revolution and dedicate themselves to honesty, patriotism, and increased efficiency.
