Khagrachhari, May 21 (V7N): Jiruna Tripura, Chairman of the Khagrachhari Hill District Council (PAJEP), today visited the Khagrachhari Journalists Union (KUJ) office – her first such visit since her appointment as chairman.
Leaders of the organization welcomed the chairman at the temporary office of the Journalists Union in Khagrachhari district town. This was followed by a view-sharing meeting where Chairman Tripura was presented with floral greetings and a commemorative plaque. The meeting was presided over by Shahriar Yunus, President of the Khagrachhari Journalists Union, and attended by the organization's General Secretary Ishtiaq Ahmed Nipu, members of the organization, Khagrachhari Press Club leaders, and media professionals working in the district.
During the meeting, Chairman Jiruna Tripura told journalists that they serve as the mirror of the nation, and their role is crucial in highlighting societal mistakes and shortcomings to propel the country and society forward. She personally requested journalists to offer suggestions alongside pointing out institutional deficiencies and sought their cooperation.
Chairman Jiruna Tripura was accompanied by Council members Nitol Moni Chakma, Shahidul Islam Suman, Dhaneshwar Tripura, and Kangjpru Marma. During the interaction, the leaders of the Journalists Union outlined the organization's procedures, activities, current challenges, and future plans. Following the discussion, Chairman Jiruna Tripura handed over a cash contribution to the Khagrachhari Journalists Union Welfare Fund.
