Mongla, Aug 20 (V7N) – A joint operation led by the Mongla Coast Guard, with support from the Navy and local police, resulted in the arrest of two drug dealers and the seizure of a large quantity of yaba pills and marijuana. Acting on a confidential tip-off, the forces raided a house near the Multipurpose Madrasa area in Mongla municipal town on Tuesday. During the search, they recovered 1 kilogram of marijuana valued at Tk 2,51,000 and 437 yaba tablets. The arrested individuals, Md. Bellal Hossain (40) and Md. Sagir Hossain (52), are residents of Mongla municipal town.

Following the raid, the suspects and the confiscated drugs were handed over to the local police station for further legal proceedings. Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq, Coast Guard Media Officer (Dhaka), affirmed that the Coast Guard will continue such targeted operations to combat drug trafficking in the region.
