Dhaka, Nov 26 (V7N) — The full verdict confirming the death sentences of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Kamal in a crimes against humanity case has been officially published. The full judgment was released on Wednesday (November 26).

With the publication of the complete verdict, the 30-day appeal period begins from today, allowing the convicted individuals to file appeals before the higher court as per legal procedure.

Earlier, on November 17, the International Crimes Tribunal handed down the death penalty to Sheikh Hasina and Asaduzzaman Kamal. Former Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment in the same case.

According to the tribunal, the charges against the three accused—including Sheikh Hasina—were proven beyond doubt. Sheikh Hasina received death sentences on two charges and life imprisonment on another. Former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Kamal was also sentenced to death.
