Dhaka, Sep 05 (V7N)- The government is exploring alternative sources to address the country's ongoing energy crisis and may import energy from Africa if necessary, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaid Islam has said.
She made the remarks at a program titled “Upcoming UN Conference and Bangladesh Branding” on Saturday (September 5) morning.
The State Minister said the government is working to diversify Bangladesh's export products and reduce dependence on a limited number of sectors.
She said, alongside the country's traditional garment industry, initiatives are also being taken to expand the production and export of jute-based products.
The government is also exploring alternative energy sources to ensure a stable supply and address the country's ongoing energy challenges, she added.
