Dhaka, Aug 23 (V7N)- The government has distributed responsibilities between the two state ministers at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, assigning separate areas of work to Humayun Kabir and Shama Obaid Islam.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a circular on Sunday (August 23) night detailing the allocation of responsibilities.

According to the circular, Humayun Kabir has been designated State Minister for Foreign Affairs-1. He will oversee bilateral and multilateral affairs, issues concerning non-resident Bangladeshis and other matters assigned by the Foreign Minister.

Shama Obaid Islam has been designated State Minister for Foreign Affairs-2. Her responsibilities include the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, human rights, research and innovation, environment and climate change, creative economy, LDC transition, information and communication technology, law of the sea and marine resources.

She will also oversee global health diplomacy as well as cultural and sports diplomacy.

The two state ministers will perform their respective responsibilities under the guidance and supervision of the Foreign Minister.

The circular said the Prime Minister has approved the distribution of responsibilities between the two state ministers.
