Thakurgaon, May 28 (V7N)- BNP Secretary General and Local Government Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called for national unity, urging people to forget political and social differences in the interest of the country and its citizens.
He made the remarks while exchanging Eid-ul-Azha greetings with journalists at his residence in Kalibari, Thakurgaon on Thursday morning.
Mirza Fakhrul said that sacrifice is a spiritual message of devotion to Allah and a symbol of moral strength rather than violence. He emphasized that Eid-ul-Azha represents closeness to Allah through obedience and sacrifice.
He urged citizens to unite beyond divisions for the welfare of the country, the Muslim community, and humanity at large. He also prayed for global peace, saying that Muslims around the world should be able to live in harmony without conflict or war.
At the same time, he called on everyone to move away from “corruption of the mind” and adopt honesty and moral discipline in personal and public life.
