Dhaka, Apr 12 (V7N) – The US Ambassador to Bangladesh, Brent T. Christensen, paid a courtesy call on Minister for Road Transport and Bridges, Railways and Shipping Sheikh Rabiul Alam at the Secretariat on Sunday.

The meeting focused on ongoing development activities in Bangladesh’s road, rail, and shipping sectors, along with prospects for future bilateral cooperation.

During the discussion, the minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, the government is working to build a modern, safe, and sustainable transport system. He expressed hope for increased US investment and technical assistance in the sector.

The US ambassador said the United States will continue to support Bangladesh in improving road safety, developing modern transport systems, and strengthening sustainable infrastructure. He also expressed interest in expanding investment and technical cooperation through knowledge exchange.

Senior officials, including Secretary of the Road Transport and Highways Division Dr. Mohammad Ziaul Haque, were present at the meeting.
