Dhaka, Mar 24 (V7N)- The first meeting of the special parliamentary committee formed to review ordinances issued by the interim government will be held today after the Eid holiday.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 11:00 am on Tuesday (March 24) at the Cabinet Room of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, with Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed presiding.

The committee was formed on March 15 under the chairmanship of the Speaker to examine ordinances promulgated during the interim period. Its primary task is to determine which ordinances will remain in force and which should be repealed.

According to parliamentary sources, the committee will review each ordinance in detail before holding discussions and making final recommendations.

Earlier, on March 12, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman placed 133 ordinances in Parliament during the first session. As per constitutional provisions, Parliament must decide on these ordinances within 30 working days.

The outcome of the committee’s review is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the country’s legal and administrative framework in the coming days.
