Dhaka, Mar 15 (V7N) — Preparations are underway to take Mirza Abbas, a member of the Standing Committee of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and adviser to the Prime Minister, to Singapore for advanced medical treatment.

Abbas, who is currently undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital Dhaka, may be flown to Singapore on Sunday (March 15) if his condition remains stable.

Hospital sources said preparations are being made to transport him by air ambulance at around 11:00 am. His wife Afroza Abbas, president of the Jatiyatabadi Mahila Dal, and his eldest son Mirza Yasir Abbas are expected to accompany him.

Meanwhile, Mirza Abbas remains under close medical observation after undergoing two brain surgeries on Friday. Doctors said a CT scan conducted on Saturday morning showed positive results, according to the medical board.

The BNP leader was admitted to Evercare Hospital after falling ill and losing consciousness during Iftar last Wednesday. He was initially scheduled to be taken to Singapore for advanced treatment on Friday evening, but when his physical condition deteriorated, doctors decided to perform emergency surgery in Dhaka.
