Madaripur, Feb 27 (V7N) — State Minister for Labor, Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Nurul Haque Nur said on Friday that the recent mass uprising has shown that people want change in politics and desire leaders who are accountable to the public.
He made the remarks during a courtesy meeting with local party leaders and activists at Mostafapur Bus Stand in Madaripur.
Referring to upcoming local elections, Nurul Haque Nur said, “Just as you asked for votes from the people in the national elections, now you will ask for votes in the local elections and act as true representatives of the people. This government has made a commitment to provide family cards, and the program to provide financial assistance of 2,000 to 2,500 taka to eligible families has already started. The government is working to stand by the people through this initiative.”
The minister emphasized that the July mass uprising reflected the public’s demand for leaders who prioritize the welfare of citizens and uphold accountable governance.
