New York, Sept 23 (V7N) – Professor Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of Bangladesh’s interim government, joined the opening session of the 80th United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday morning at the UN Headquarters in New York.

Accompanying him are Legal Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul, Foreign Affairs Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain, Energy Adviser Fauzul Kabir Khan, SDG Coordinator Lamia Morshed, and Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam.

Following the inaugural session, the Chief Adviser is scheduled to meet the Director-General of the World Trade Organization at 10:30 a.m., followed by a meeting with the President of the World Bank at 11:00 a.m. At 11:30 a.m., he will hold talks with Queen Maxima of the Netherlands.

At 12:30 p.m., Yunus will participate in the “Fashion for Development (F4D): 13th Annual Official First Ladies’ Luncheon.” In the afternoon at 2:45 p.m., he is slated to attend a discussion titled “Financing Through Social Innovation: Leadership from Public and Private Sectors.”

The day will conclude with a reception hosted by U.S. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at 7:00 p.m., where Professor Yunus will also be in attendance.
