The announcement was made through an urgent post on the official Bangladesh Police Facebook page on Thursday.

According to the notice, rewards will be provided to genuine sources who assist in retrieving missing weapons and ammunition. The government has allocated specific amounts based on the type of weapon recovered. A cash prize of Tk 50,000 has been announced for the recovery of pistols and shotguns, Tk 100,000 for Chinese rifles, Tk 1,50,000 for submachine guns (SMGs), Tk 500,000 for light machine guns (LMGs), and Tk 500 for each round of ammunition.

Police officials said the initiative aims to ensure national security and prevent misuse of these weapons. Authorities emphasized that the identity of informants will be strictly protected, encouraging public cooperation in retrieving the arms.

Security analysts note that the recovery of such looted weapons is crucial to maintaining law and order, as unauthorized arms pose a serious risk of violence and criminal activity.
