Beijing, July 31 (V7N): China has confirmed that no Chinese nationals were injured or harmed in an Iranian attack that struck a building owned by a Chinese company in Kuwait. Beijing has urged Kuwait to take necessary measures to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens and institutions in the country.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning provided the information during a regular press briefing on Friday (July 31).
Mao Ning said the Iranian attack hit a building belonging to a Chinese company, but no Chinese citizens were affected by the incident.
She said China has requested the Kuwaiti government to take effective steps to protect the safety of Chinese nationals and Chinese-funded institutions operating in Kuwait.
Earlier, reports emerged that an Iranian attack had damaged a building owned by a Chinese company in Kuwait. However, the Chinese Foreign Ministry did not disclose details about the extent of the damage or the specific nature of the facility that was targeted.
