Tehran, Jul 20 (V7N)- Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that it has shot down several more U.S. drones, including a surveillance drone and an MQ-9 drone, amid escalating military tensions between Tehran and Washington.
According to Iran’s state news agency IRNA, cited by Al Jazeera, the IRGC said its forces destroyed a spy drone in southern Iran that was allegedly monitoring military activities in the region.
The Iranian military also claimed that its air force shot down a U.S. MQ-9 drone over the southwestern city of Ahvaz.
In addition, the IRGC claimed that Iranian forces intercepted a U.S. cruise missile in western Iran. However, the United States has not yet issued any official response regarding the claims.
The reported drone interceptions come as tensions between Iran and the United States continue to intensify, with both sides exchanging military strikes and accusations in recent days.
The latest developments have raised concerns over further instability in the Middle East, as regional security remains under pressure due to ongoing confrontations between the two countries.
