Tehran, Jul 19 (V7N)- Iran has released the names of two teenage girls who were killed in a recent US airstrike in southern Iran.

According to Al Jazeera, the Iranian Embassy in India published the names and photographs of the two girls in a post on X on Sunday (July 19).

The post identified the victims as Sogand Darmand and Fatemeh Zahra Akbari, saying they were among seven civilians killed in a US airstrike targeting a bridge in the southern port city of Bandar Khamir.

The bridge was struck late on Thursday as US forces carried out a series of airstrikes across southern Iran.

Iranian authorities said the latest wave of US attacks killed at least 50 people and injured more than 500 others.

The United States has not immediately commented on Iran's claims regarding the identities of the victims or the reported civilian casualty figures.
