Tehran, Jul 05 (V7N) — Iran has said it is using the current ceasefire period to further strengthen its military capabilities, stressing that the armed forces remain on high alert and are prepared to respond forcefully to any perceived aggression.

Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia of the Iranian Army said the ceasefire should not be viewed as an opportunity to relax military preparedness. Instead, he said, Iran is using the period to further enhance the combat readiness of its armed forces.

"We will not waste this opportunity to increase military power for a moment or show any negligence in this regard," Akraminia said.

He warned that any "wrong move" by Iran's adversaries would be met with a "devastating and decisive response" from the country's armed forces.

The remarks come as a ceasefire remains in effect following the recent conflict involving Iran, the United States and Israel. Despite the halt in fighting, tensions remain high, with Tehran indicating that it is preparing for the possibility of renewed hostilities.

According to Iranian state media, thousands of airstrikes carried out by the United States and Israel in recent weeks targeted military facilities, energy infrastructure and civilian locations across Iran. Iranian authorities claim that more than 3,000 people were killed during the attacks.

The conflict began on February 28 following the assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, triggering a rapid escalation into a large-scale military confrontation. Although a ceasefire is currently in place, both sides continue to maintain military readiness while remaining cautious on the diplomatic front.
