Dhaka, Apr 30 (V7N) — Bangladesh received remittances totaling $3.002 billion in the first 29 days of April, reflecting a significant year-on-year increase, according to the Bangladesh Bank.

Central bank spokesperson Arif Hossain Khan said on Thursday that the average daily remittance inflow during this period stood at approximately $100.35 million.

During the same period last year, remittances amounted to $2.608 billion, indicating a notable rise in inflows this year.

From July to April 29 of the current fiscal year, total remittances reached $29.21 billion, marking a 19.80 percent increase compared to the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

Earlier in March, the country recorded its highest-ever monthly remittance inflow, with expatriates sending $3.755 billion.

According to officials, total remittance earnings for the 2024–25 fiscal year have already reached around $30.32 billion, setting a new record for annual expatriate income in Bangladesh’s history.

The steady growth in remittances continues to play a crucial role in supporting the country’s foreign exchange reserves and overall economic stability.
