Detroit, Apr 19 (V7N) — Former US Vice President Kamala Harris has accused US President Donald Trump of being drawn into a conflict with Iran under the influence of Israeli leadership.

Speaking at a Democratic Party fundraiser in Detroit on Saturday, Harris said Trump has effectively entered a war situation involving Iran, alleging that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu played a key role in pushing the United States into the conflict.

“War not supported by Americans”

Harris argued that the ongoing escalation is not supported by the American public and warned that it could endanger US troops deployed in the region.

She stated that “this war is not wanted by the American people” and criticized the direction of US foreign policy.

Netanyahu rejects allegations

In response, Netanyahu has denied the accusations, calling them “fake news.” He maintained that US decisions are made independently based on national interest and rejected claims of external influence over Washington’s actions.

Background of tensions

The comments come amid heightened tensions in the Middle East following the collapse of nuclear negotiations and subsequent military escalations involving the US and Israel against Iran earlier this year.

The situation has further intensified regional instability, with continued exchanges of attacks between Iran and allied forces in the region.
