Islamabad, Apr 11 (V7N) – A high-level delegation from the United States, led by Vice President JD Vance, has arrived in Islamabad to participate in scheduled talks with Iran.

According to Reuters, citing Pakistani government sources, the delegation departed from Washington on Friday aboard the official vice-presidential aircraft, Air Force Two.

The US team includes senior officials, along with President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner. Before departure, Trump said in a message on X (formerly Twitter) that he had provided specific instructions to the delegation.

The Iranian delegation had already arrived earlier, led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. It also includes Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Central Bank Governor Abdolnaser Hemmati, Supreme National Defense Council Secretary Ali Akbar Ahmadian, Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi, and Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghai, among a total of 71 officials.

The talks, taking place under tight security, are expected to address key issues between the two countries amid ongoing regional tensions.
