New Delhi, Apr 10 (V7N)- India has appointed senior diplomat Prannoy Verma as its next Ambassador to Belgium and the European Union, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of External Affairs on Friday.
Currently serving as India’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Verma will succeed Saurabh Kumar, who is presently posted in Brussels.
Prannoy Verma assumed office as the 18th High Commissioner to Dhaka in September 2022. During his tenure, he played a key role in strengthening bilateral relations between India and Bangladesh.
A seasoned career diplomat, Verma has previously held several important international assignments, including postings in Hong Kong, San Francisco, Beijing, Kathmandu, Washington, D.C., and Hanoi.
He is expected to take up his new assignment in Brussels shortly.
