Colombo, Mar 17 (V7N) – As the ongoing US-Iran-Israel conflict enters its third week, Sri Lanka has adopted an unusual measure to manage its energy crisis: the government has declared every Wednesday a public holiday.

This decision has effectively created a three-day weekly holiday across the country.

Speaking at an emergency meeting with officials on Monday, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said, “We have to prepare for the worst in the ongoing conflict. Hopefully, we will be able to overcome this crisis.”
