Washington, Mar 11 (V7N) – Russia has stated that it has not shared any intelligence on US military positions with Iran, according to a report by CNN News on Wednesday (March 11).
US Ambassador Steve Witkoff said that during a phone call with President Donald Trump on Monday, Russian officials confirmed they had not provided Iran with information regarding the location or movements of US troops, ships, or aircraft.
Earlier, US media had reported that US intelligence suggested Russia was sharing such information with Iran, raising concerns amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
Witkoff, in an interview with CNBC on Tuesday, reiterated: “Yesterday, in a phone call with the president, the Russians said they had not shared any information.” He added that he and Jared Kushner also spoke separately with Russian official Yuri Ushakov on Monday, receiving the same assurances.
White House Press Secretary Carolyn Levitt said the US had conveyed a clear message to Russia that any sharing of US military intelligence with Iran would be unacceptable and expressed hope that such incidents would not occur.
