Ankara, Feb 04 (V7N) — Saudi Arabia will invest $2 billion in the construction of two solar power plants in Turkey, Turkish Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar said, according to a report by Reuters.

Bayraktar said the two projects will have a combined generation capacity of 2,000 megawatts.

He added that an agreement on renewable energy projects was signed between Saudi Arabia and Turkey during Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s recent visit to Riyadh.

In a post on social media, Bayraktar said he and Saudi Arabia’s Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman signed the agreement on behalf of their respective countries.
