Bilaspur, Nov 05 (V7N) — At least 10 people have died in a collision between a passenger train and a freight train in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, on Tuesday afternoon.

According to eyewitness reports and footage, one of the passenger train coaches climbed over another, with the front section collapsing upon impact. The collision occurred at around 4 p.m. near Bilaspur station, as reported by ANI news agency.

Rescue teams arrived at the scene shortly after the accident. Bodies were recovered one by one, while several injured passengers were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The cause of the accident has not yet been determined, and an investigation is ongoing. Authorities have warned that the death toll may rise further as rescue operations continue.
