Washington, Oct 06 (V7N) – US President Donald Trump has expressed optimism that the ongoing conflict in Gaza will come to an end soon and that hostages will be released following ongoing mediation efforts between Hamas and Israel.
In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump said that positive discussions have already taken place and that work is progressing “very quickly.” He added that the technical teams involved are finalizing key details, which could be completed within the week.
“We have had some good discussions. Frankly, many Muslim, Arab, and other countries around Israel have met with Hamas. And it seems to be working,” Trump wrote. “We will have to wait a little for the results. I think it will be very soon. I will let you know soon.”
The US President also mentioned that mediators are set to meet Hamas and Israeli officials on Monday, aiming to reach an agreement on both a ceasefire and the release of hostages.
Trump emphasized that the United States is urging all parties to move quickly to bring about peace and stability in the region.
