Washington, Aug 04 (V7N) – Stephen Miller, a senior aide to former U.S. President Donald Trump, has accused India of indirectly financing the ongoing Ukraine war through its substantial purchases of Russian oil.
Miller stated, “Everyone would be shocked to know that India is almost as big as China in buying Russian oil. This is a surprising fact.”
According to Indian government sources cited by media on August 2, Delhi plans to continue its oil imports from Moscow despite warnings and threats from the United States.
Separately, Trump announced on August 3 that special envoy Steve Witkoff might visit Russia next Wednesday or Thursday as part of diplomatic efforts. He also warned that if a ceasefire in the Ukraine conflict is not achieved by Friday, new sanctions would be imposed on Russia.
Trump commented, “Russia will be sanctioned, but the Russian government is very good at avoiding sanctions. They are clever and good at evading sanctions. Let’s see what happens.”
