Washington, July 08 (V7N) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has officially recommended U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, citing his role in brokering peace efforts across various regions. The endorsement came during a dinner event in Washington on Monday, where Netanyahu personally handed over a nomination letter to Trump.

According to a report by The Times of Israel, Netanyahu praised Trump’s diplomatic initiatives, stating, “He is establishing peace in one country after another, in one region after another. I would like to present to you my letter to the Nobel Prize Committee. It nominates you for the Peace Prize, which is well deserved.”

Visibly surprised and appreciative, President Trump responded, “Thank you very much. I did not know that — wow, thank you very much. This is very meaningful.”

This is not the first such endorsement. In June, U.S. Congressman Buddy Carter also sent a formal letter to the Nobel Committee, nominating Trump for the Peace Prize for his role in mediating a recent ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel.

Trump’s foreign policy has been a topic of international debate, particularly his administration’s push for normalization deals between Israel and several Arab nations under the Abraham Accords framework. While critics question the long-term effectiveness of these agreements, supporters argue they represent significant steps toward stability in the Middle East.

Netanyahu’s nomination adds to a growing list of Trump allies who have publicly backed his bid for the prestigious international honor.
