Phuket, June 13 (V7N) — Less than a day after a tragic plane crash in Gujarat, India, an Air India flight carrying over 150 passengers made an emergency landing at Phuket International Airport, Thailand, due to a reported bomb scare.

Flight AI 379, which took off from Phuket at 9:30 am local time heading to Delhi, was forced to return and land back at Phuket at 12:15 pm, just before its scheduled arrival in Delhi at 12:40 pm. Authorities have not released detailed information regarding the bomb scare.

According to Indian media outlet NDTV, the flight had 156 passengers onboard, all of whom are reported safe. Following the emergency landing, passengers and their luggage were promptly evacuated, and security agencies began thorough screening.

This incident comes a day after a devastating Air India crash near Ahmedabad International Airport in Gujarat, which killed 241 people. The crash involved a flight bound for London Gatwick with 242 people on board, and only one survivor was reported.
