Washington, June 7 (V7N) — Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, has launched a sharp public feud with former U.S. President Donald Trump over a recently passed government bill. Musk has openly criticized Trump as “ungrateful” and has blamed him for supporting what Musk calls a “disgusting” tax cuts and spending bill that would increase the U.S. budget deficit.

Musk, who resigned from a role in the U.S. administration earlier, argued that without his financial support, Trump would have lost the 2024 presidential election. The billionaire’s comments sparked a strong reaction from Trump, who expressed disappointment during a White House statement and warned that their relationship would never recover.

On social media platform Truth Social, Trump called Musk “disgusting” and threatened to cancel government contracts with Musk’s companies. Following this threat, Tesla’s stock price plunged by 14.3 percent within hours.

In response, Musk called for Trump’s impeachment via social media, further intensifying the confrontation. Despite Musk’s demands, Reuters reports that Trump’s Republican Party still holds majorities in both houses of Congress, making impeachment unlikely.
