Dhaka, Aug 15 (V7N) – Health officials today reported 730 new dengue cases and at least two deaths from the disease in the past 24 hours, according to a statement from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the new hospitalisations, 17 patients were admitted in Barishal division, 89 in Chattogram division, 66 in Dhaka division, 137 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) areas, 171 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 123 in Khulna division, 27 in Mymensingh division and 10 in Rangpur division, the DGHS statement said.
Since the start of the year, Bangladesh has recorded 67 deaths from dengue so far, while the total number of cases has reached 23,173.
In comparison, dengue claimed 413 lives and infected 102,861 people across the country in 2025, according to official figures.
Health authorities have urged the public to take necessary precautions, including eliminating mosquito breeding sites and seeking prompt medical attention if symptoms appear.
