DHAKA, April 2, (V7N) — Health officials today reported 25 new dengue cases across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

A DGHS spokesman said the fresh cases were recorded between 8 am Tuesday and 8 am Wednesday. Of these, 11 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, four in Chattogram, six in Dhaka division, one in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), one in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), one in Khulna division, and one in Mymensingh division.

Since the start of the year, dengue has claimed four lives and affected 1,893 people nationwide.

By comparison, dengue claimed 413 lives and infected 102,861 people in 2025, while in 2024 the toll was 575 deaths with 101,214 infections.
